Reading and book signing of “Requiem for Njeri”
Sunday, March 9, at 2 p.m.
“Requiem for Njeri,” by Waithira Mbuthia-Protano is a collection of poems, along with Mbuthia-Protano’s lyrics and music by psychologist and composer Dr. George Groth.
The book is dedicated to the author’s daughter—whose young life was claimed by bipolar disorder—and questions the actions of the people, the institutions and the laws evoking shame, stigma and indifference to such illness.
