Mommy and baby yoga

Fridays at 10 a.m.

in the Yeager Room

Finally a class for both mom and baby. Classes are taught by certified instructors from Yoga Haven. Classes will include stretching and toning, breathing techniques and deep relaxation for the new mom. Instruction on infant massage will give moms and babies a great time to bond. Props, mats, and blankets will be provided. Class size is limited. Advance registration is a must. This class is for pre-walkers, only. Babies 6 weeks old to walking.

Paws & Tales: Therapy dogs in the library

Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 4 p.m.

Join us and give beginning readers the chance to practice reading their favorite tale aloud to a furry, friendly therapy dog. All dogs certified and registered through The Good Dog Foundation. Story-loving dogs will be available for 10-minute reading sessions. Registration is required


Mamaroneck high school students sponsoring furniture drive

On Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., students from Mamaroneck High School’s Furniture Sharehouse service club will hold a drive to benefit Westchester’s furniture bank. They will be collecting items, which Furniture Sharehouse redistributes, free of charge, to families in need. The drive will take place in the parking lot at Mamaroneck High School, 1000 W. Boston Post Road, rain or shine. Only basic home furniture in good condition will be accepted, so before you load up your car, please go to www.furnituresharehouse.org to make sure your furniture meets the donation guidelines. Furniture Sharehouse helps you “recycle with a difference.”

Pelham Arts Center Events

Winter classes

Registration began Monday, Dec. 9 for Pelham Art Center’s Winter 2014 semester, scheduled for Jan. 6 to March 22. Registration for classes and workshops is ongoing throughout the term. Families, adults and children can choose from a variety of classes and workshops running morning, afternoon, evening and on weekends. Pelham Art Center Members receive 10 percent off classes. Need-based scholarships and payment plans are available.
