After playing their way into the Class B semifinals, the Garnets season came to an end on May 20 when they fell to a powerful Yorktown team 14-5 on the Huskers home turf.

The Huskers were able to spread the scoring around, as Sydney Stern led her squad with three goals and an assist. Stern’s teammate, Kate Comerford, also tallied three goals in the win.

For Rye, Caroline Neave emerged as the high scorer, finding the net twice on the afternoon.

The win puts Yorktown in the Class B finals against top-seeded Somers. The teams will meet on May 22 at Torne Valley.

Rye’s boys lacrosse squad was eliminated from sectionals earlier in the week with an 11-6 loss to John Jay.
