Eastchester Public Library events
Library fair
On Sept. 21, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Friends of the Eastchester Public Library will host the EPL Library Fair in the library parking lot. All proceeds will benefit a major renovation, which will provide a more lively and modern children’s room at the library. New carpeting and a 3D book themed circulation area populated by children’s book characters such as Greg from the Wimpy Kid series and Winnie the Pooh will be installed this fall.
The library fair will celebrate the library’s vibrant role in the lives of the children of our community. This family event will include crafts, games, food, Lego workshops and raffles. The day will also include activities for pets.

The library fair will include a library mascot competition with a fantastic first prize, a pet poetry contest and a pet look-a-like competition. If one’s pet resembles Pete the Cat, or Harry the Dirty Dog, or any other dog or cat in a library book, they can submit a picture of themselves with their pet and the book to win a prize. Submissions for the pet poetry contest will be accepted from Aug. 30 through Sept. 13.

Would you score better on the SAT or the ACT?
While many students try their hand at both the SAT and the ACT, most still only take one of the two tests.

But how do you decide which to take? Try Kaplan’s SAT/ACT Combo Sample Test
Kaplan’s 90-minute sample test provides 10 practice questions from each section of both tests. This gives students a taste of what to expect on test day whether they decide to take the SAT, ACT, or both. The sample test is followed by answers & explanations. Scores are given to provide a general indication of potential performance on each test.
