Broncos net another title

Henry Grass muscles his way to the net on May 23. Bronxville captured its fourth consecutive Class C title with a 9-7 win over Pleasantville.

On May 23, the Bronxville Broncos won their fourth-straight Section I title, beating the Pleasantville Panthers 9-7 at White Plains High School.

Despite coming into the game as the heavy favorites, the Broncos fell behind to a methodical Pleasantville attack. Slowing down the pace of the game, the Panthers were able to head into the half with a narrow 3-2 lead over the reigning champs.

The lead wouldn’t last long into the second half, though, as Will Duncan scored two goals to tie the game at four. From there, the Broncos were able to take a lead–and hold it–for the remainder of regulation.

Duncan finished with three goals and senior Matt Behrens–who missed much of the season with an injury–had a terrific performance as well, scoring twice in the Broncos’ latest Class C title bid.
