Hannah is a senior and one of the captains of this year’s girls basketball team. Hannah has helped lead the team to a 5-1 start on the season as the Garnets begin to enter league play. Rye’s only loss so far was to Class AA Arlington in the championship game of the Rye Rotary Holiday Classic Tournament, where Hannah was named to the All-Tournament team.
“Hannah is a great teammate,” fellow captain Rachel Egan said. “She works hard every day at practice, which pushes the people around her to get better. She also never gives up on any play and always puts the team ahead of herself during games no matter what the situation is.”
Teammate Maddie Eck agreed.
“Hannah is a great leader and captain on and off the court,” Eck said. “[She] constantly works hard in practice to help make us better.”
Hannah has been on the varsity team since her sophomore year. At the forward position, her inside presence has been key for the Garnets. Hannah is a black belt in karate, which helps her with positioning and balance, especially when going up against taller opponents.
When not playing for the Garnets, Hannah has participated in AAU basketball for the Prime Time Players and the Future Stars. Off of the court, Hannah is on the High Honor Roll and has received various academic achievements including recognition in the National Merit Scholarship Program. She is in the process of considering her college choices.
